1. About 4net
4net is a free universal VPN client for Android. It lets users import a compatible configuration or subscription obtained independently from a VPN provider, manually select a server, and establish a connection using Android VpnService. 4net does not sell VPN connectivity, subscriptions, or other paid services.
2. Information processed to provide the app
To perform its core functions, the app may technically process a subscription URL, configuration parameters, server addresses, protocol settings, connection status, timestamps, app version, device operating-system version, and diagnostic error information. Network addresses and routing information may be handled in memory when creating and maintaining a connection.
This technical processing is distinct from collecting or retaining personal data by the developer.
3. Subscription configuration and local storage
Imported subscription links, configurations, selected server, and app preferences are stored locally on the user’s device using Android storage mechanisms. The user controls which provider configuration is imported and may remove it by deleting it in the app or clearing/uninstalling the app. Device backups controlled by Android or the device manufacturer may be subject to their own settings.
4. Network processing and VPN traffic
Android VpnService routes device network traffic through the VPN server selected by the user. The 4net application must process network packets technically to pass them through the configured tunnel, but it does not analyze traffic content for advertising or profiling. The selected VPN provider and its infrastructure can process connection data under their own policies and terms.
5. Diagnostics
The app may create local operational logs needed to show connection status and diagnose errors. These can include protocol events, error codes, timing, and app/device environment information. Users may choose to share diagnostic details with support. They should review such information before sending it. 4net does not use diagnostic data for advertising profiles.
6. Advertising, tracking, and sale of data
4net contains no advertising SDKs and does not perform advertising tracking. The developer does not sell personal data. The app has no in-app purchases or payment processing.
7. Retention
Locally stored app data remains on the device until the user removes the configuration, clears app data, or uninstalls the app. Support correspondence and voluntarily submitted diagnostics may be retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
8. Third-party VPN providers and infrastructure
A VPN provider whose subscription the user imports is a separate party. It may have its own Privacy Policy, Terms, data locations, retention periods, and technical infrastructure. 4net does not control that provider and is not responsible for unverified privacy claims made by it. Users should review the provider’s documents before connecting.
Operating systems, app distribution platforms, hosting, email, Telegram, and other third-party infrastructure may process limited technical data under their own policies when users interact with those services.
9. Security
4net uses reasonable technical measures available on Android to protect locally stored configuration and the integrity of app communications. No network transmission or storage method is absolutely secure. Users should protect access to their devices and obtain configurations only from providers they trust.
10. Children
4net is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information to support may contact us to request deletion.
11. User rights and choices
Users can remove imported data locally and may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data they voluntarily submitted to 4net support, subject to applicable law and identity verification. Requests concerning a VPN provider must be directed to that provider.
12. Policy changes
We may update this policy when the app, legal requirements, or processing practices change. The effective date will be revised on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through an appropriate project channel.
